The loss of her and all that she represented in light, faith, and hope, will linger. (Jonathan possesses so many of her best qualities.) Love and peace to you today and in the days that come…in the months and the holidays and the seasons. Such a soul to walk this earth, makes one believe saints do exist, that God is among us, and the Spirit lives in our memories of her.

Wendy, I never met you in the earthly realm, but your influence wasn’t constrained by that. Your friend Buffy has shared some of your spirit, faith and encouragement with me, even after your passing, and it has helped me and fed my soul greatly. I told Buffy that Matthew 25:21 came to mind for me about you: “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!'” Sending much love to your family and friends who I’m sure miss you terribly.

    March 11, 2019 at 9:49 PM

John, Kristi, Bill, and Vicki…our thoughts and prayers are with you and I wish I could be there. Kevin and Jonathan, likewise. I have not even had the privilege to meet either of you. The Hoyt family was like a second family to me for many years growing up at Hope Church. While time and distance takes its toll, memories are still with me – as is Wendy’s senior picture that I still have tucked away with other Hope Church memories. I am just so sorry for your loss yet am so glad that we know where we will meet again after this earthly life. – Amy and Tim Martin
